Friends, in 2013 I did the #write31days challenge and it was super fun and also super hard. Writing for 31 days is hard enough, but then writing something that the world will also see is even harder. My “letters to myself” month was a favorite by so many of you, and really one of the first times I shared so many things about myself with you all. I loved that discipline of writing letters to my younger self, and although this month I'm not doing something as personal, I still look forward to exploring a new subject with you all.
PODCASTING.
I get so many questions each week about podcasting that I want to spend the next 31 days answering them, and giving you my tips for podcasting. I will probably say this 1million times before the end of the month, but I'm not an expert on this subject. I'm just a girl doing something she loves and wanting to share it with you.
I recently taught an online class about podcasting and when it was over I realized how much I loved talking about this subject. I'll be at Allume this month and guess what, I'm doing a break out on podcasting. PLEASE JOIN ME IF YOU ARE THERE!
This is how it will work this month. If you have questions, leave them in the comment sections and I'll hopefully get to them all along the month, share some of my favorite new shows, share some shows I've recently been a guest on, and even some fun plans for 2016 and The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey show.
Seriously, what fun to spend the next month talking about podcasting, and don't worry if you have absolutely no interest in this subject, I'll still be blogging about other things as well, so stay with me for a month.
Let's do this. Podcasting 101 starts now ……

What was your ultimate “I’m definitely doing this” defining moment with podcasting? The moment where it wasn’t just a dream anymore but you actually made the decision that you were going to start.
And is that still your defining moment that keeps you going or has it developed into something entire different?
Awesome! I can’t wait to hear the podcast that you’ve been a guest on! I’m doing the Write 31 Day challenge as well! Good luck to you, girl! Excited to read about podcasting!
Love this! Excited you’re writing about this. It’s been on my heart for a while so I’m excited to hear your thoughts about this!
Yay! Can’t wait to learn from you. I’ll be here!
What a fun topic! I definitely listen to a lot of podcasts, but I’ve never tried it out myself. I’ll definitely be following your series.
oh fun!!! looking forward to meeting you at Allume!
How exciting! I’m definitely looking forward to this. I’ve considered it before but I’m really excited to hear about your journey and how you’re approaching it. This is my first year doing the #write31day challenge so I’m excited to connect with you and follow through this month!
Jamie!
Love listening to your podcast. I am a new listener and new mom of a 1 year old. I love listening because I don’t have a lot of mom friends yet. (I just left my corporate job 3 months ago to be a stay at home working mom. Working full-time has made it a bit harder to have playdates so I feel like I get some mom time during Happy Hour. I am currently a wellness coach and in January I am launching a leadership development and social impact consulting company. I plan to start a podcast with the launch of my company focused on leadership! Here are the questions I have.
1. what equipment do I need?
2. How much time does it take per podcast episode?
3. What have been your biggest learnings since starting yours?
Thank you!
Brooke
