My 3.5 year old is realizing lately that him and his brother have different color of skin. It is like he realizes it but he doesn't realize it. Make sense? He is too young to realize why their skin is different and way too young to even care. I love his curiosity and his awareness, and quite frankly it is just funny. I have no idea where he learned that he is “white”, except for the fact that he claims white is his favorite color. I have tried to explain to him that white is not really a color, but yet the absent of color. He still insists on white being his favorite.
Back to the skin … he will color a person in his coloring book brown and say that it is his brother. When asked what color skin daddy has he says white. When asked what color skin mommy has he says brown like brother! Ha Ha!
I love what comes out of the minds of kids!
i absolutely love that. and i love that cayden doesn’t think you’re white!
Cayden is too adorable!

That is so sweet. I love the things that come out of my kids mouth. today ryan told me I was his friend … so sweet!
this made me smile 🙂
When Carly was little she noticed that my dad was very dark. it was so out of the blue. We were riding in the car (my dad had come for a visit) and she and he were holding hands when she perked up and said…”grandpa you have chocolate hands….” she went on to add with her cuteness….”and i like chocolate!”
i laughed so hard. we have never forgotten that moment.
It just makes my day that he says his favorite color is white! That is so hilarious 🙂
