Lisa Whittle is my guest for The Happy Hour #161. Lisa is a leader, author and speaker with a heart and passion to communicate one thing: Jesus is everything. Her love runs deep to see people pursue Jesus for life, grow deep roots of faith, and walk strong in the midst of a world that so often seems to have gone crazy. She is the author of seven books, including her latest Put Your Warrior Boots On and Five-Word Prayers, and a sought out Bible teacher for her wit and bold, bottom line approach. She is a wife and mother of three who currently resides in North Carolina.
Lisa and I kick off our conversation talking about The Office's best episodes. Duh. From there, the conversation naturally transitions into parenting older children, keeping our marriages a priority while dedicating time spent as a family. Lisa shares about her wounds from the church, and how she now feels like the same wounds that hurt her also healed her. We chat all about her newest book, Put Your Warrior Boots On, and how the Lord birthed in her a desire to see women that were stronger in what God says than what culture and news say.

Hi Jamie!
Thank you so much for your wonderful podcasts. I am a 57 year old woman living in Orange County, California. I am a lover of Jesus, a wife, a mother of 3 and an avid reader. My 25 year old daughter Amy, a grad student in Denver Colorado, has been listening to your podcast for months and recommended it to me. We both love it! We are listening to the past ones, but also listening to the current podcast of the week so we can discuss it with each other and because a lot of them are so timely to current events.
Even though Amy and I are years apart in age, there is something in each of your podcasts that speak to each of us. I think that is remarkable! We love listening to you and your guests talk about their faith, families and journeys. We are so impressed with how nonjudgmental you are when your guests are relating their stories. We appreciate the candid and honest discussions. And of course we love the “what are you reading” and “what do you love” part of the segments. I really loved your discussions with Lisa Whittle and Beth Moore on their relationships with their grown children. My kids are my best friends and the joy of my life.
There is always some nugget of wisdom that either you or your guest shares with us, like “No one determines my value but God” and “Choose to love, obey, and commit.”
You have found a wonderful mission Jamie, touching the hearts and souls of women (and men) of all ages. Please continue your podcasts! They are a bright light in a world that can get pretty dark on occasion. God bless your ministry!
Prayers and blessings,
Suzie
You have younger listeners because we are looking for Christian women to look up to – thank you so much for what you do! You fill a void for people who lack that in their day-to-day life. Sadly, it seems we are too “busy” to go find them in our communities, but your focus on friendships also encourages us we should do so. 🙂
