I love the minds of kids.
When we got to camp this week Cayden was chatting with Guy and they were talking about where Cadie was. He was telling him that she was at home with her mommy. I then reminded Cayden that Tracy had a baby in her belly and Cadie was going to be a big sister. He went through all the questions:
What will her hair look like?
Will she have blond hair?
How big is she?
What is her name?
Then he asked a profound question that comes from a little boy who has siblings that don't look like him. He asked:
What color will she be?
I told him that she'll be white like her mommy and daddy. He shook his head and moved on to the next question.
I was stuck on that one for a while. I love that about him. He hasn't yet figured it out that a white mommy and a white daddy will make a white baby.
my kiddos asked the same question!
That has got to be one of the sweetest things I have read in a long time. Ahhh to have no great understanding of color, what a nice world that could be.
