Okay guys. Thanks for all your votes and opinions on names for our baby girl. The two favorite were Esther and Story. Those have actually been our favorites for a while now!
So her name is officially STORY!
We love it and our kids love it! It's on the Christmas card and I've told the girls in Haiti to start calling her that! It's official and I can't wait to see her story unfold with us!!!
Here is where I need your help one more time! We're now debating middle names …
We want to honor her parents in Haiti and keep M – I have always wanted to give my daughter my middle name too, so this is where the debate comes in. Once again we love to hear your opinions and your vote, but don't be rude and as always we make the final call!!!! 🙂 Let the fun begin!
I think I like number 1 the best Magdaleigh. But I would spell “leigh” how you spell it…either leigh or lee.
what’s story’s haitian last name? – reason i asked is maybe you can use it instead of the mothers first name (use the last instead) if you’re not coming up with something you like – we did this with our girls – we picked kiara jo (loved the name kiara & jo after my MIL joann) – her haitian name was flonise monéus (flow niece…. moan A eee’s) – since we didn’t care for flonise, we named her (kiara jo-monéus shepler)
we then picked karleigh rei (ray) & found out her name was dina chérélus (d ‘eye’ na… share a loose) so she’s (karleigh rei chérélus shepler)
we then heard of redelene letant (ed lean… lé taw) & we wanted to name her after my grandmother & my mother & had decided on ruby, but couldn’t think of anything we liked for a middle name – my middle name’s ann, spike’s sisters middle name’s ann, his gmother’s name was anne (anna) & ruby’s BM’s first name is liz (lee’s) so we ran it all together & came up with annelize (anna lee’s) & she’s now (ruby annelize letant shepler
i know you probably don’t care, but there ya have it! – thus the reason for wanting to know her given last name
lori
I like number one. But I would spell it however you do, as well. It all sounds beautiful!!!!!
I like #1 best. yeah for story–we love it!!
I LOVE #2. 🙂
I like #1 as well!
I think it’s beautiful and I think you should spell it how you spell leigh for yourself!!! 🙂 Can’t wait to hug on Story and Amos!!!!! Just put me in your suitcase in January!!!
I like #1!! 🙂
ummm… I like number too, bu I’m really into names with “ee” on the end, and I definitely understand wanting to pass that part of yourself onto Story… I love story… If I am ever blessed with a little girl, (there’s so much testosterone at our house, I need to install a urinal!) Story has been towards the top of my list for a while… only it doesn’t really fit with our last name. Oh well…. but my vote is 2, but I think either way, it will be beautiful!
Love #2!!!! Story is a great name! And she’s going to have an amazing story!
I found your blog through Star! I don’t know you but I thought I would vote too!! LOL I like them all but am drawn to #3. Congratulations on your adoption! It is a great way to multiply your family!! Oh, and it is contagious!! LOL
#3 🙂
I like one or two and I think Magdaleigh/lee sounds beautiful.
i love the combination idea… magda-leigh is beautiful!
#1. It looks so pretty! 🙂 I’m with the others and think you should spell leigh the way you spell yours.
I like Story Magdaleigh, but I really miss Esther.
BTW, Big Boy was so adorable as Joseph today at rehearsal.
Teble
Story Magdaleigh Ivey. Perfection.
#1 —-thanks for keeping Magda part of her name. I really liek the two together
#2, I think. Then I change my mind to #1. Having a hard time between the two. But I think #2. She is amazingly adorable!!!
Story Magdaleigh Ivey…sounds perfect!! Can’t wait to meet her:)
this is hard….
I think number 1
I think number one and you guys make me want to adopt now more then ever. We’ve always planned on adopting. I grew up without a family so I know first hand what it is like to give someone the gift of family, the gift of having others believe in you, support you, tap into your potential and stand by your side throughout life. Woe to the person who is alone. It is tough road when there is no one to the left or to the right of you.
definitely #1 … that picture is just priceless … i can’t wait to see them home … praying for you all and for your sweethearts around the world …. are you going to web cam with aaron while you are gone ???? i have two cameras if you need to borrow them …
OK I think it should be Story Esther Magdaleigh Ivey :0)
I love it when people have two middle names, and if I ever have a daughter she would have two. I love the eidea of Magda Leigh.
Story Magda Leigh Ivey. It has a nice ring to it.
