Lately I've been trying to substitute a meal a day with a smoothie. Usually this is lunch for me, but if I know I'm out around lunch I'll do breakfast like this. For me, it's about cutting out a few calories as I try to lose a few pounds. The best way for me to do this is to still put something good in my belly, but it has less calories as well.
Here's what I've been doing these days:
First of all I have my new handy-dandy blender of a vitamix, which I might save in a fire if I could take one thing. It makes my smoothies so blended and frothy! I love it. I usually use two – three fruits, frozen banana's, strawberries, pineapple, raspberries or blueberries.
I also have been adding my ProFit to each smoothie. This gives me 14 grams of protein and extra fiber in each serving. It uses all natural ingredients and is gluten free. It's also vanilla so it adds a little fun flavor to the smoothie.
I also add my greens to the smoothie if I haven't already taken them. If you have been reading my blog for the past month you know how much I've fallen in love with my greens. My sister in law has recently started taking them as well and she can't stop talking about them either. The energy that I get from them literally keeps me moving in the afternoon each day.
I put all this in, blend and then I have a super easy meal that I can take with me in the car while I'm on the go!
