A few months ago a girl named Rachel emailed me to tell me that she reads my blog and that her husband and her were in the process of a domestic adoption. I love to hear from people that read my blog and although it may take me a while to email you back I try my hardest to email everyone back even if it takes me months. 🙂 Rachel and I emailed a few times and she asked if I would like to do a giveaway on my blog for her.

(I’ll write more about that in my next entry… Those earrings are dang cute… Gotta keep entering..)
Rachel, I am right there with you. My husband and I are in the process of adopting. We had an infant adoption fail just two weeks ago. I’ve never been on such a roller coaster in my life.
We’re on a waiting list for an infant here in the U.S., but we are also adopting a four-year-old boy from Bulgaria. He’s super cute, hyper, and has a speech delay. We’re waiting for one final approval which will allow us to visit him in (probably) three weeks.
My husband and I view our journey through adoption as a ministry. We’ve ministered to the birthmother we’ve worked with – despite an outcome that was unfavorable for us. We’ve tried to give voices to the children who are on the special needs adoption lists. The wait is hard, but the blessings are great.
Psalm 68:5-6 [He is] Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—God places the lonely in families.
There are many lonely children. Continue praying for God to bring the right ones into your family!
(You can read more of my husband and I’s story on our blog:

Love your etsy shop btw… I’m ordering this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/72354400/ill-fly-away-antique-birds-on-a-branch
I followed her blog and am in love with the mustard yellow earrings (#2) I love reading about their adoption process…what a great reminder of being an adopted Child of Christ!!!
Going to spread the word on twitter and followed her there as well! Plus- love the new look of the blog, Jamie!
I followed her blog!
and i followed her on twitter… and i bought a necklace from her store, but that doesnt’ count. and i love those first ones.
THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR THE ENCOURAGING WORDS!!!! about the shop and the adoption process. it’s so good to hear that we aren’t alone out there. i can’t thank you enough. what a great response! love, rachel.
I now follow Love Is Rising! And I love all the earrings!!! Maybe earrings number 2 should be my choice, but maybe dainty earrings number 3 would be a good choice since I usually don’t choose super girly things. hmmm.
Rachel- Adoption is hard. We had multiple fall throughs, but now that I look into my 15 month old’s eyes I can’t imagine life without him. It was truly worth all the pain and heartache of waiting! Blessings to you as you journey on! Our son’s name is Emmanuel which means God is with us. God was definitely with us on the entire journey of adoption!!!
Now following on Twitter. 🙂
I tweeted.
OH I love all three but my favorite is number 3…gfc follower Mommywantstoread
A close family friend went through the long process of adoption. The first time they tried as soon as the baby was born the mother decided to keep it. They were heart broken and almost gave up. But then years later they tried again. They were on waiting list after waiting list but finally they adopted a beautiful baby girl from China. It’s been 13 years and they knew that the reason that it took so long was because they had to wait for their daughter mandy to be born because she was meant to be with them
Followed her blog! LOVE #3 🙂
Following @rachelport on twitter!
Though I haven’t gone through the waiting process of adoption, my husband and I have been fostering our 2 kiddos for over 9 months. We wait differently to find out what life will be like for the precious babies we love so much. Hold on to the truth that you will hold your baby one day. You will have the moment of holding your baby in your arms for the first time. You will look back one day and understand the why’s.
And I love that you are a midwestern girl 🙂 I’m Indiana born, turned Texan 5 years ago. Must say I’m so thankful that sweet tea was brought into my life!
I’m not cool enough for any of these. HA But I love you!! And I’m following Rachel on twitter.
Congrats to Melissa!!!
