These monthly reading list blogs are really a mental check-in for me at how quickly everything is going. Feels like not that long ago I couldn't go outside without double layers – now I'm living in my swimsuit! Aaron and I just got back from our 20th anniversary vacation in Palm Springs (hence the fun little palm trees graphic), so I had some time to read by the pool and rack up some recommendations for you!
Here's what I read in July:
LIMITLESS
Mallory Weggemann is a paralympic gold-medalist and world champion swimmer. In her book, Limitless: The Power of Hope and Resilience to Overcome Circumstance, Mallory shares the story of how a routine medical procedure left her paralyzed from the waist down. Less than two years later, she broke 8 world records (yes, 8) at the 2012 Paralympics in London. Her story absolutely blew me away – you are gonna want to read every word.
We Go On
Pastor John Onwuchekwa's book We Go On doesn't release until January, but you're gonna want to pre-order this one. It talks all about finding our purpose, why we're here, and how scripture is so crucial in leading us to God's plan. If you have ever felt lost in your purpose, this is the book for you.
Over It
I am absolutely loving the Olympics right now and I loved Olympian Lolo Jones' book, Over It. In this book, Lolo shares about the moment a split second mistake cost her the Olympic gold medal, and how she moved forward from that loss. She talks about tackling failure while pursuing our dreams, and how her faith helped her heal and forgive herself. It's a beautiful story of turning painful losses to success.

Note: Just a reminder, as you read the list of books I recommend, remember to use discernment. While I may recommend a book or author, it does not suggest that I am in full agreement with every opinion/statement that the author portrays.
