Julie brought these amazing cookies to the party the other night:
Oreo Balls aka “Faux Bonbons”
Ingredients:
1 pack of Oreos
8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
1 (24 oz.) carton of chocolate almond bark
Directions:
Crush entire pack of Oreos into tiny pieces using a blender.
Mix in large bowl with softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Roll into balls, apx. 1/2 inch in diameter.
Set onto wax paper with at least 1/2 inch space in between each ball.
Melt almond bark according to directions on package.
Spoon melted chocolate over each ball and let harden.
Makes roughly 30-60 bonbons depending on how big you roll them.
Serve at room temperature or chilled.
Seal and store leftovers in refrigerator.
*For variety, use vanilla almond bark instead of chocolate to make “snowballs” or drizzle melted vanilla bark over hardened chocolate layer with a toothpick for decorative effect.
I make some like this every year and they are always a huge hit! They are so easy and look so fancy. I always dip them in white chocolate and then sprinkle peppermint on the top (candy canes from the blender). Yum!
