WHAT YOU WILL HEAR

My guest for The Happy Hour #316 is Anna Golden. Anna is a 24-year-old worship pastor at Relentless Church in Greenville, South Carolina. Not only is Anna incredibly talented, she is also a devoted and humble leader. In addition to her role in ministry, Anna has several solo projects as a Singer/Songwriter. In 2017, Tasha Cobbs Leonard was planning a recording session for her historic album “Heart. Passion. Pursuit” and requested Anna to be a part of the recording. This led to Tasha making the move to launch her own imprint, “TeeLee Records”, in association with her longtime label Motown Gospel, choosing Anna Golden as her debut artist.

In today’s episode, Anna talks about what it was like growing up as a show-biz kid in a creative family, navigating leading worship as a young person, and some of the stigmas surrounding being a single worship pastor. Anna also opens up about the level of responsibility that comes with leading worship for a congregation, and the importance of accountability from someone who knows you deeply. I love when she says, “being a worship leader is actually 10% of what you do on-stage and 90% of what you do off-stage.” Without accountability, it can be easy to lean on our gifts rather than the Holy Spirit, and it’s important to have that safe place in your life for someone to graciously point you towards Christ. Y’all, I’m so thankful for Anna’s vulnerability and sharing her heart with us today. Make sure to check out her songs, “Birds” and “Peace.” They have been such an encouragement to me in this season, and I hope they will be the same for you!
