Happy Hour #68 is with Jami Nato. Jami and her husband live in Kansas City where they are raising four kids, and still celebrating the Royals winning the World Series. Jami blogs, speaks and is in the process of writing a book that you're definitely going to want to get your hands on.
On the show, we discuss a marital affair that rocked her world seven years ago. Jami's perspective on suffering and how God loved her, changed her and challenged her through the experience is so beautiful. And her love for Jesus and the gospel is so powerful and shines bright in our conversation. A highlight that I haven't been able to stop thinking about since we talked is the claim that through her suffering, her reward was not a reconciled marriage, but it was getting more of Jesus. I hope her experience and perspective will encourage and persevere your heart, like it did mine.
Of course we chatted about the Kansas City Royals and we even discusses Texan arrogance and how we tend to forget that there are other states out there, besides the Lone Star. At the end of our show, Jami shares a precious Christmas tradition for their family that is just another reminder of how much God has done in their sweet family over the years.

MAD Marketplace
The vision of MAD Marketplace is so simple – to create a global consumer movement that matters. They are not just words. They want the difference they make to be global. They want consumers to know of ways to be good stewards when they shop. If we all shop with the hope to make a difference, our spending creates a movement and that matters!
MAD Marketplace just launched an online retail store on November 1st!
Who says shopping and making a difference don’t go together?
There are clearly more problems around us than there are solutions. Most of them are quite daunting…poverty, hunger, human trafficking, orphan care, clean water projects, barriers to employment, and so many more. As consumers, we can choose to buy differently and be a part of the solution.
The mission of MAD Marketplace is to tell stories, sell products and help people.
As consumers, we are always shopping and we do much of it online. MAD Marketplace wants to cater to online shoppers by creating a shopping experience that provides a wide variety of unique and practical products, tell the incredible stories behind each of them, and provide a simple way for everyone to help others.
MAD Marketplace’s products give back in different ways. Some examples include buy one give one, proceeds that participate in micro-lending, sustainable living wages, empowering women, meal for meal, drop for drop, and restoring hearing. No matter what you buy, every purchase has a purpose!
MAD Marketplace offers the consumer a different way to shop, a different reason to buy, and more than one way to help. Customers may choose products that vary from peanut butter, baby blankets, coffee, lamps, statement jewelry, and rain boots, to name just a few.

Yay!!! I have been waiting for this post on Jami. Loved loved loved yalls chat!! Listened to it numberous times Thanks for doing what you do Jamie!!
Yippee!!!
So much gospel truth in this episode! This one calls for multiple listens to absorb all the goodness! The Happy Hour never disappoints, and I am recommending it to anyone who will listen to me!!
Thank you so much for listening and for sharing!!! Love that!
WOW! Thank you so much Jami and Jamey! That preached.
This conversation was so powerful. We went through years of infertility waiting on God to grow our family. Like Jami, I reached the point where a child wasn’t the reward. It was more Jesus. Almost every word Jami said resonated with me. Like her, I am incredibly grateful for that journey and count it all as JOY. Thank you for introducing us to Jami! Grateful for YOU and this happy place you’ve created in the podcast!
I cannot tell you how much this podcast blessed me!!!!!!! Totally life changing!!!!! Thank you both for being totally transparent!
Similar things happened in my marriage. I have felt some of the exact same things. It was cool to hear her say she felt God near to her, like when she was sleeping at night. I always felt crazy for feeling that God was right next to me when I was sleeping in bed at night… like physically. It was so cool to hear her say a lot of the exact same things I felt of how God loved me too! And the thing about Him leading her into a cleft of a rock. I actually had a vision of God bringing me food and telling me to rest as I lay in a crevis of a rock. Crazy! He is our first husband!
Can I just say, that I recently was told to listen to this podcast and I have listened to it three times since tuesday? And shared it with everyone I know. No lies. So good. So challenging. So much truth. And i’m now addicted to your podcast and my reading list has grown significantly. Thank you for being vulnerable and doing what you do Jamie! I feel like I have new best friends in you and the women you have on your show.
Thank you
Jamie and Jami,
This particular podcast is so very important to me! I was behind on my “Happy Hours” and while staying home from work with two of my kiddos, I decided to remedy that today.
I am sitting here in tears, but so thankful for the revelation I have received as a result of this podcast! I am not going through an affair or separation, but I needed this wake up call for my own marriage AND my relationship with God.
Thank you, Ladies, for sharing your stories! And Jamie, I recommend your podcast all the time!
I just found you through Jami’s post announcing her interview with you. I have gone through some things like Jami and was completely encouraged. And now I’m hooked!!! So, now when I have to blow dry my hair it isn’t as boring!! Thank you!! It’s been such a blessing to hear you talk about what God is doing in so many women’s lives. I would have to recommend a book. “Finding Eve” Discover your true identity as a daughter of God by Rita Springer. Such a good book on God’s amazing plan for women and her personal journey of adopting her son from Africa as a a single woman. It is so good on motherhood and God’s plan for you even when it seems impossible. I pray you have a blessed day and an enjoyable evening with your kids and honey. Blessings!!!
