Happy Hour #66 is with Amanda Jones. Amanda is a Jesus-loving Texas girl married to a preacher boy from Missouri. They have 2 elementary-age kids, a new baby girl, and a four-year-old church they planted with their friends. Amanda loves laughing with her family, taking Sunday naps, pausing for tea time, and searching the city of Houston for the perfect Breakfast taco.
On today's show we discuss how her blog BABY BANGS got it's name, how both of us had such wonderful experiences at the Passion Conference in our lifetime, what it was like growing up with her mom, Beth Moore, in ministry, and how she helps her family thrive while being in ministry. We also had a very open and honest discussion about domestic adoption and the journey that Amanda and her family walked through a few years ago. Amanda shares what she learned from walking through their adoption loss. She then shared her favorite things, and what she is currently reading.

MAD Marketplace
The vision of MAD Marketplace is so simple! To create a global consumer movement that matters! They are not just words! We want the difference we make to be global. We want consumers to know of ways to be good stewards when they shop! If we all shop with the hope to make a difference, our spending creates a movement and that matters!
MAD Marketplace Launched an Online Retail Store on November 1st!
Who Says Shopping and Making A Difference Don’t Go Together?
There are clearly more problems around us than there are solutions. Most of them are quite daunting…poverty, hunger, human trafficking, orphan care, clean water projects, barriers to employment, and so many more. As consumers, we can choose to buy differently and be a part of the solution.
The mission of MAD Marketplace is to tell stories, sell products and help people.
As consumers, we are always shopping and we do much of it online. MAD Marketplace wants to cater to online shoppers by creating a shopping experience that provides a wide variety of unique and practical products, tell the incredible stories behind each of them, and provide a simple way for everyone to help others.
MAD Marketplace’s products give back in different ways. Some examples include buy one give one, proceeds that participate in micro-lending, sustainable living wages, empowering women, meal for meal, drop for drop, and restoring hearing. No matter what you buy, every purchase has a purpose!
MAD Marketplace offers the consumer a different way to shop, a different reason to buy, and more than one way to help. Customers may choose products that vary from peanut butter, baby blankets, coffee, lamps, statement jewelry, and rain boots, to name just a few.

This was a fantastic episode! Congrats to the Jones family on the new addition. 🙂
Jamie, thank you for a wonderful episode, as always. This one was very timely as my sister, after 15 years of infertility, just went through a failed adoption. She and her husband are grieving deeply, so I will be forward in this episode on to her to listen to when she is ready. I was also excited to hear about Beth’s new book. Can’t wait to read it.
I so enjoy your podcast, I share some of the same passions as you so it’s fun to be able to pretend I’m in on the conversation as well! I had a question, do you have any books you would recommend coming from a birth moms perspective? We adopted our son through foster care and opted to have somewhat of an open adoption and we have been keeping in contact with her with pictures and visits when we go back to our home state. I have been thinking about her so much lately and all she has been dealing with on her end of the adoption and just wondered if you had any book recommendations that may give me that point of view. Thank you so much for your help!
