Happy Hour #59 is with my friend Vivian Mabuni. Vivian and her husband have worked with CRU for the past 25 years and currently serve with the Epic Movment.
Vivian and I met this past year when we were both at the If:Gathering and worked together on some If:Equip videos and were both a part of the racial reconciliation conversation that happened on stage. You can watch the videos HERE.
Racial Reconciliation – What is Racism? from IF Gathering on Vimeo.
On today's show we discuss Vivian's work with CRU and the Epic Movement, helping our kids own their own faith, and I shared my story of fear during a recent ultra sound and mammogram. Vivian shares one of the greatest gifts her girlfriends gave her when she found out about breast cancer – the sat with her listened, and didn't try to solve her problems. Vivian shares so many amazing nuggets of how to walk through grief with friends, that I hope you get to sit and soak up her wisdom on this subject.
Vivian shares with us how she trusted God throughout this journey she was on with cancer, how she helped her kids walk through this cancer journey, and how her husband and her handled the “what if's” of this cancer journey.
{You can listen to the show HERE and make sure you never miss a Happy Hour by subscribing through your favorite podcast app (ie. iTunes, Stitcher). And of course, I would love if you would share with your friends!}

So I have been totally stalking your website waiting for this post to see if there would be a way to win a book without having social media … I know what a lame-o! Ha. But I think I entered correctly using my email and commenting on here … Hopefully … My favorite part of the show is just the authenticity of the women you interview and the authenticity of you yourself Jamie! It makes the show so enjoyable and really life changing. I have been repeating to myself since listening about faith is a choose – we choose how we react to life and all it entails. And I also love the what people are reading part along with their three favorite things!
Ok that was a lot – sorry! Thanks for doing what you do!
Yippee! You are entered! Make sure you entered above in the post on the rafflecopter form!
I loved hearing Vivian’s story. My mom is also a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed at age 42.

I could identify with Vivian’s cancer story. I too am a breast cancer survivor. The journey was hard but like her, thankful to be on the other side.
