Happy Hour #39 is with my favorite person in the world … my husband! Since I started the show I've been wanting to have him on, and you guys submitted some great questions via Facebook, Twitter, & IG for us to chat about. We honestly had a great time, and so even though this is a bit of a different show than you are used to, I think you will like it.
On this show Aaron and I discuss the upcoming new live album from Austin Stone Worship, how we do ministry together, how we have changed since we first got married, how we met, and of course, how much we love our date nights.
Three things Aaron's loving right now are his HELM boots, the new album by Butch Walker, and the documentary Chef's Table that we have been watching on Netflix each night.
{You can listen to the show HERE, and make sure you never miss a Happy Hour by subscribing through your favorite podcast app (ie. iTunes, Stitcher). And of course, I would love if you would share with your friends!}

Loved listening to this! You guys are great together and you can tell that you guys have a great friendship and admiration for each other. Thanks for letting us take a listen to life with the two of you! 🙂
I just finished this podcast and LOVED hearing the easy, funny, and sweet dynamic you have with your husband! Thanks for sharing that with us. I laughed out loud a ton.
I’m new to your podcasts, but am catching up quickly and recommending them left and right to my girlfriends! They are just so fun and uplifting!
This just might be my favorite podcast yet! As a newlywed, I’m intrigued to find out how other couples tick and how they interact. You and your husband are a breath of fresh air and getting a glimpse into your lives together and your goals and passions was the highlight of my week! Way to go!
This was so fun! Thanks, Jamie. I loved listening to you two laugh together!
Y’all crack me up. I am glad to know James and I aren’t the only couple out there who have no shared interests besides Jesus, food, and maybe a couple tv shows. 🙂
That was a really fun podcast! I think having interview questions for a date night would be an awesome way to encourage good conversation. I love that Aaron kept suggesting he be a weekly contributor…which would make him your only guest! Definitely invite him back though – loved the sweet dynamic you share.
This was SO fun to listen to. I was cracking up throughout most of it, and also really encouraged in my marriage. Like you guys, my husband and I have VERY different interests, hobbies, even taste in TV shows 🙂 so I had to laugh – but I was also encouraged that you guys make it work even being so different. LOVED this episode.
Sooo, major thanks to Aaron for introducing me to Butch Walker- he’s awesome! Ryan Adams is my very favorite and my husband (MAJOR music fan) told me he produced Butch’s album so no wonder I love him. Enjoyed this podcast as always!
LOVED this episode!! You guys are super cute together! Would you mind to share the link to the article that you mentioned at the end of the podcast – the 5 things that couples do?? Thanks!
thank you so much for letting us hang out with y’all! how sweet! where is that photo from early in your marriage? y’all were babies if you were still in college! i want to see. 🙂
Hi Jamie! I’ve just discovered your podcasts a few weeks ago and I’ve been BINGE listening to them, SO GOOD. They make my commute and my workouts fly by, it’s such a treat. Quick question, I think on this podcast you may have talked about restaurants in Austin and Aaron may have mentioned what he thought was the best restaurant in Austin… what was the restaurant? I can’t remember if it was this podcast or another one. Visiting Austin soon, and need restaurant recommendations… we are HUGE foodies. Definitely looking through your restaurants lists on the blog too! Thanks again for an awesome podcast.
I’ve been slowly making my way through your podcasts! I am so in love with you and your guests. I’ve been (obsessively) raving about it to friends. I mention a book or a person and always say “the Happy Hour Podcast” when they ask where I found out about it. My small group is about to do the Fear and Faith study after I listened to the Trillia Newbell episode!
So this episode was adorable. You guys sounded like those couples on When Harry Met Sally who tell stories of how they met. Love it!
Hi Jamie!! I have been a fan for a few months now and instantly got addicted to your down to earth, funny,,& inspiring podcasts. I can go through several episodes.in oneday, since I’m a SAHM to 2 littles:-) Your episode with your hubby Aaron was one of my favorites. You guys remind me of my hubby & I. Thanks for all you do to spread a little sunshine into my day!!
Hi Jamie! I’m new to the Happy Hour world, actually new to the whole podcast world. (Where have I been living? Under a stupid rock or something?!?) I’ve caught a handful of your podcasts so far including Tara Leigh Cobble (which I’m single so that was an encouraging one) and Jennie Allen (which I have her book Restless and need to finish it). But THIS one with you and Aaron. Man, I just laughed and laughed. I felt like I was sitting out on the back porch with ya’ll (which is awkward considering the whole hand on the small of your back thing). You just seem like a really cool couple: approachable, comfortable with yourselves and each other, and hilarious! Anyhow, I just wanted to say hi and God bless ya’ll and I can’t wait to slowly catch up! 🙂
