It's May y'all! I don't know what it's like where you are, but May is starting off beautifully in Austin, TX. The weather is perfect, everything is green and baseball season is in full gear. To kick the month off, Megan Tietz is joining me for episode #139 of The Happy Hour. Megan served as the soothing voice and spirited pen behind SortaCrunchy – blog hub for all things faith, family, and natural living from 2006-2014. She is also co-author of Spirit-Led Parenting: From Fear to Freedom in Baby’s First Year.
In 2015, she launched Sorta Awesome and discovered she was born to host a podcast what with having that unique creative chemistry that thrives on in-depth analysis of pop culture, all things intentional living, and the next big thing you didn’t know you couldn’t live without.
On today's show, we talk all about podcasting, which we're both obviously passionate about. Megan shares her latest favorites and we discuss the newest podcast craze, S-Town (don't worry…no spoilers this time). Megan is also a personality guru and shares her assessment of my personality type, and explains why she has found personality types fascinating and helping in interpersonal relationships.
And finally, we talk about Megan's travels to Lebanon, the refugee crisis and how her perspective has shifted after her travels. There are a lot of links below if you are interested in learning more about how you can be involved.
Enjoy your week, and make sure to join us next week for a very special edition of The Happy Hour as we celebrate our third anniversary!
{You can listen to the show HERE. And of course, I would love if you would share with your friends. Just use the FB & Twitter links at the end of this post!}

Halo Top
When it comes to food, pleasing the whole family can be a task, to put it lightly. When it comes to dessert, it's easy to please, but hard to keep it healthy, until now. Halo Top is a low-calorie, high-protein, and low-sugar ice cream that tastes like the real thing, because it is. Don't take our word for it, try it yourself, just know that there's no going back once you do because nothing tastes better than not having to compromise.

The Meyers Briggs is most widely accepted in scientific circles, but most accepted in more “normal” circles of us less scientifically inclined people are four personality types called: Sanguine, Choleric, Phlegmatic, and Melancholy. There are lots of different types of tests that will put you in some sort of combo of two of the four since we are all a mix of two usually….. color test, animals, etc…. This Flag Page uses these four personalities and break them down even more for the common person in Fun, Control, Peace, and Orderly. And they have made a game for kids to play as young as 3 with an accompanying book to help parents understand their children and their personalities. We played it with our 11 and 15 year olds and found out a huge piece of the puzzle- our 11 year old is not NOSY she is just curious down to her DNA! Really helped us out, especially because we have a blended (adoption through foster care) family and have not raised our oldest two from birth.
I didn’t appreciate your speaker Megan Tietz getting all political in this show and saying erroneous information about our President’s policies. “We thought Syrians would never again be allowed into our country.” ?!?!……
Um no…. not ever happened.
