My guest for The Happy Hour #128 is my friend, Julie Manning. Julie is a wife to her husband, John, mother of three fun-loving boys, and pediatric nurse practitioner. At the age of 25, Julie left her career in corporate America to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. While in nursing school, the Lord birthed a passion within Julie to care for children born with heart disease. Little did she know seven years later, she would learn that her own heart was sick. The Lord’s pursuit of Julie’s heart and soul through the valley of facing many uncertainties has developed a fire within her to live intentionally from moment to moment as if it may be her last.
In our conversation, Julie shares about writing her book, My Heart. Anyone that knows Julie knows that she's not one to toot her own horn. So being pursued for a book deal was not so much her wheelhouse. Julie shares about how she decided to move forward and walk in obedience to share her story – not for her own gain, but for the name of Jesus to be lifted high.
Julie shares about her journey of discovering her heart failure and how that affects her day to day now. I have never met anyone so eternity-minded as Julie. She has a very personal understanding of the brevity of life and how this earth is not her home. If you are walking through a season of suffering, just coming out of one, or have one waiting for you tomorrow, I think Julie's life will be such an encouragement to you.
