Alli Worthington is my guest for Happy Hour #114. Alli is the author of Breaking Busy: Finding Peace and Purpose in a World of Crazy, speaker, and the Executive Director of Propel Women. Her goal is to help women live the life they were created to live. Alli co-founded multiple companies and has helped individuals, small business owners and Fortune 500 companies be more successful. Her no-nonsense, guilt-free take on business, family and balance has lead to appearances on The Today Show and Good Morning America. She has written for Huffington Post, Fox News, Redbook and more. She, her husband, Mark, and their five sons live outside of Nashville, TN.
In our conversation, Alli shares about her life as a working mom with a household of boys. She's a big advocate of personal freedoms – which goodness, I think we could all learn a thing or two from – like, taking the pressure off ourselves to do the things that don't fit within our natural giftings or capacity. Alli and I chat about our strengths and the sexy strength of woo that neither of us possess.
If you've ever questioned your giftings and if you should pursue them, make sure to stick around for the last few minutes of the show. I felt so encouraged by Alli's motto to show up, love people, be herself and not quit.
And just in case you're wondering, I made a promise in my conversation with Alli to read the Screwtape Letters before this episode aired and of course, I haven't done it. But you should. And maybe send me a summary.
{You can listen to the show HERE. And of course, I would love if you would share with your friends. Just use the FB & Twitter links at the end of this post!}

So many truths today on your interview with Alli. The part about being scared to start how true is that and how fear holds us back. I too have five kids and love how Alli puts limits on her family with parties etc love that. There are no words to say thank you to both of you! Rocked my world!
Hi, Jamie!
I’ve just started listening to your podcast (from the beginning! I just finished the first Jennie Allen episode), and I absolutely love it–thanks for your hard work on it every week. It brings me a lot of joy to hear these stories.
I wanted to make one quick suggestion! Have you ever considered keeping a running list of the books that are recommended on each podcast, and adding that list as a tab on your blog? I’d love to have one place to be able to access this info (instead of going in to individual show note blog posts to find them–I already have a super lengthy reading list after only a few episodes!
Just a thought! Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks again for what you do 🙂
Great episode! Alli – My top Strength is Input as well. I don’t like how I’ve sounded like a “know it all” most of my life. But I do like how people come to me to ask for book recommendations and other resources. Somehow I manage to “file” all of that in my head and it’s kind of fun in those moments. I’m also an editor so it helps with my role there. Many blessings on your ministry. You are speaking truth and freedom to women and we need it!
I love Alli! This was a really fun interview to listen to.
