Last week I turned 37, and then on Saturday The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey podcast turned ONE! Happy Birthday to the show! Last year I debuted the podcast, and I laughed when I listened to it again a few days ago. I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but I was determined to have a show! I have said this a million times in the past year, but my podcast is my most favorite thing I have done in a long time.

There have been so many wonderful things that have come from this show this past year. My number one favorite thing is how many of you guys send me messages and leave comments about how much you enjoy the show and are encouraged through each episode. You leave comments about how you were challenged through the conversation that the guest and I had. You let me know how the show gets you through nap time each day and you feel like you are having a conversation with girlfriends and really it's just you and your iPhone. We've tackled conversations about friendships, marriage, raising toddlers, raising teenagers, books, grace, love to those around us, overcoming fears, Uganda, illness, Haiti, birthday parties, and so much more.

My second favorite thing about my show is introducing you to some amazing women. When I first started thinking about doing a show I knew that I wanted you all to meet all the amazing people I have met in my life. God has allowed my paths to cross with so many fabulous women, and letting you meet them all is something that I love!

Lastly, having my podcast is such a great outlet for me. When I worked at the radio station I loved to get to share my story, opinions, and life with the listeners, and I feel as though I get that with all of you. I am able to share things God is teaching me, stories from my life, and my thoughts on life with you all and I love that.

So … HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY'S TO THE HAPPY HOUR!!!  We made it a year and I'm super excited about heading into year #2 with the show. When I started the show I said that after a year I would start trying to make an income from this, and so throughout the summer and when the Fall starts, I'll be beginning to take on some advertising for the show. I've experimented with this a bit already and hopefully you won't notice one bit of a difference, except you'll hear about amazing companies, and I promise to only accept advertisements from people I would actually give my own money to.

In the mean time, I have added an “donate” button to the side of my webpage for any of you that might want to donate to the show. Making this podcast has some expenses, so your donation allows me to create more episodes for you.

So …. The show made it a year and I'm excited about what the next year holds! Each show is free, but I'd love it if some of you would consider donating a few bucks each month to keep this show a float!!!
