GIVINGTON'S
I recently was shown a super cool website that makes shopping for things you will already be buying even better. Givington's is a new online retailer and their premise is simple. They offer the products you are already going to buy, at the price you would pay across the web, and give to the cause of YOUR CHOICE with every purchase. Up to 50% of the profit from each sale goes to a non-profit cause you choose. How cool is that? You get to choose where the money goes. I love it!
On their site you can get coffee, tea, books, clothes and jewelry. This would be such a great site to get all of your teacher gifts in one spot and give back to your favorite organization at the same time!
Givington's is giving away this set to THREE lucky people! Yippee!

OPEN ARMS
There is a super cool organization right here in Austin that makes the cutest skirts and scarves from old t shirts. First of all, what is the most comfortable thing you own? Yes, your old t shirts, so imagine those becoming a skirt or a scarf. THE BEST. What I love most about Open Arms is that they are healping refugee women here in Austin work and create a living for themselves. Can you imagine being forced out of your country, not being able to return, landing in a foreign land, and then having to work for next to nothing because you don't know the language or have an eduction. OPEN ARMS IS CHANGING THAT. Check out some of their amazing products:
NAPKINS – how stinking cute are these! Open Arms makes more than just dresses & scarves!

Chevron napkins
Their “game day” dresses are so cute and would be so fun to wear to any sporting event in your favorite teams colors!

Game Day Dress
These “Spirit Scarves” are so cute and would be a great stocking stuffer!

Sprit Scarf
These infinity scarves are so stinking cute. It seems as though I keep picking all their burnt orange stuff. I mean they are based in Austin! Go Horns!

Infinity Scarf
And here's what they are giving away to one of you guys! An infinity scarf, which right now on their website you can get for free with any $50 purchase. What fun is that!

I have a couple of my husband’s shirts from when he was in junior high that I sleep in – so comfortable!
My daughter only has 2 teachers right now, so I am able to do slightly more personal gifts. But these days I am a huge fan of prosperity candle for gifts like that!
I’m keeping copious notes of all of the teacher gifts! I will need them some day soon 🙂
I LOVE my mom’s old tshirts. so wonderful and comfy – and remind me of my mommy. I would say 1974!
Always go the giftcard route
I have an old tshirt that my friend’s mom gave me. She worked in Ronald Reagan’s cabinet during his term as president…it was for their white house softball team! It’s awesome!
We just hit the kids usual teachers and bus driver…generally go the gift card route, but now I am thinking a bit of coffee might be just the ticket!
No kids yet, so no teachers. A t-shirt I found at a thrift store in Greenville, SC. Retro-awesome and super soft!
This is our first year to have more than the one main teacher. I have no idea what I’m going to do!! I usually give a gift card for a small amount to a place I know the teacher likes. I need to come up with something different this year.
My go to Christmas gifts lately have been Thirty-One bags or pouches and I fill them with little homemade treats.
My daughter is in her first year of preschool, and I just realized earlier today that I need to figure out something for her teachers! As a teacher, I will admit that gift cards are always a hit (even though it seems like the easy route!).
My oldest t-shirt is probably from college…now I’m wondering if there’s any of my old high school shirts at my mom’s!
I don’t have kids yet! But if I do in the future, I’d probably gift candles or journals. I love both 🙂 And my oldest tshirt is one of my dad’s old ones from maybe 1990? It’s huge and reaches my knees, but I love sleeping in it!
Christmas gifts usually are something handmade… that’s the best route! One time I made my teacher a wreath out of crayons and put her name on the front. Dang, sixth grade self!
