Adoption is hard. I think I could start 894 conversations with that same phrase and it would never get old or lose its meaning. Adoption is this beautiful tragedy that has intersected our lives and lots of peoples lives around us that we love and live life with. Last year Aaron was honored to be able to preach at our church and one of my most favorite things that he said was that when we embrace adoption, we declare that we are going to take part in their suffering. We are going to see our child's suffering as our own suffering and walk through it with them. Of course that resonated with my heart so much since that has been our life for the past 3.5 years.
This Thursday Aaron and our pastor, Matt Carter, will be doing a radio show talking about how our church, The Austin Stone, is helping families do what they can to help out with adoption and foster care. They are being interviewed by the FamilyLife team and Hope for the Orphans team. I listened to this recently, and I know that you will be blessed by it as much as I was. If you or someone you know is thinking about adopting this will be great, and if you have already adopted or know someone that has this will encourage you as well.
Hope for the Orphans has a great resource online available for people interested in helping with the foster care system where you life. Click HERE to get more info on this. Click HERE for link to radio interview.
Thanks for helping us spread the word, Jamie!
Always! Love all you guys are doing!
