As most of you know Deacon joined our family in 2005 when we adopted him domestically. He was born in Texas and we fell in love with him the minute we laid eyes on him.
As most of you know we are in the process of adopting two more children in to our family. They will join our family hopefully sometime in 2009. They are living in Haiti right now and are under the BEST possible care they could have. We are blessed.
Adoption is a heartbeat of mine. If you want to talk adoption I could all day long. I have been down the domestic road, and now we are traveling (quite slowly!!!) down the international road. I am a proud adoptive parent.
Our friends Maris and Bush are in the domestic adoption world right now. They have been chosen by a mom that is choosing to place her baby for adoption and that baby is due October 2!!! Yippee!!! I am so happy for them. I can't wait to love on a little baby ALL the time.
Domestic adoption is a hard road. The emotions are CRAZY. Maris has some good points on a recent post that I encourage you to read. She values this baby's mom and is not claiming this child as hers until the mom makes it clear that he is. I love that. I love her adoration for this baby and for his mom. Maris realizes that the mom has every right to parent this child if she chooses.
Go check out Maris' blog. Encourage her. Pray for her and Bush and follow their journey to August.
I am going to check it out now!
