Another monthly round-up! I had a little more time on my hands after the launch of my book You Be You, so this month has some GOOD reads. I love sharing these with you, and I hope you find something you like!
Here's what I read in October:
Signs of Hope
This book isn't out yet, but it's available for pre-order now before its Spring 2021 release! It's called Signs of Hope: How Small Acts of Love Can Change Your World and it is written by my dear friend, Amy Wolff. Without giving too much away, Amy walks through her journey of having a deep desire to brighten our world with encouragement and inspiration. It's such a beautiful story of creating a movement of encouragement, and inspiring to know that we can all play a part in that. Add this book to your Spring 2021 reads!
Out of a Far Country
This book was recommended to me by a friend and I absolutely devoured it. I cannot recommend this enough. Out of a Far Country by Christopher and Angela Yuan is very story-driven which is my absolute favorite to read. I’m 100% going to reach out to one of these authors to interview one day! If you have ever felt that you were too far gone, or that someone you loved was, this story will once again prove that no one is too far gone from the love of Jesus!
A Gentle Answer
Scott Sauls is someone I highly admire and respect, and he was recently a guest on the podcast on Faith & Politics (you can listen to that here). His book A Gentle Answer: Our ‘Secret Weapon' in an Age of Us Against Them could not have come at a better time. It is a wonderful guide for how Christians can become people of gentle answers as we navigate living in a world full of polarization politically, relationally and culturally. When people hear the word ‘gentle', they often confuse it with being quiet. Scott tells us that gentleness is actually very loud because it is so different, and if we grow in affection with Christ, we can respond to hostility with gentleness. It's a Fruit of the Spirit for a reason, and something that I definitely want to embody more. Make sure to give this a read, you won't regret it.
Complement
This is a little sneak peak! Aaron and I wrote a book together called Complement: The Surprising Beauty of Choosing Together Over Separate in Marriage that comes out in the Spring! We did the final read through this month and we are so excited to release this book together. If you know us, you know we LOVE marriage so much, but it's hard work. Wow is it hard work. And we want to encourage our fellow married folk to build strong and healthy marriages by the grace of God and guidance of His word. We can't wait for you to read this one!

Note: Just a reminder, as you read the list of books I recommend, remember to use discernment. While I may recommend a book or author, it does not suggest that I am in full agreement with every opinion/statement that the author portrays.
