I only finished two books this month, but I recommend both of them to you if you are looking for a good book!

If you have been around the blog world for a while,  you know of Melanie because of her blog: Big Mama.  I know she explains the meaning of her blog that started years ago, but I still giggle each time I read it.  Anyhow, this is her second book, The Antelope in the Living Room, and I loved it.  Melanie's a great writer and her books are super easy to read and entertaining.  I laughed out loud in this one even more than I did in her first book that was about parenting.  I even teared up at the end of this book when she talked about Perry (her hubby) showing her so much grace during one of their conversations about her past.  I could totally relate to that, and it made me remember all over again how awesome my man is as well.  If you are looking for a fun book about marriage, this is for you.  I have known Melanie in the internet world for about a year and finally met her in person a few weeks ago over lunch, and I'm now 100% a fan of hers.  I mean that in the most normal way possible.  She is the real deal and as funny in person as she is in her writing.  I must say I'm a huge fan of knowing people when you read their books.  I wish I could have lunch with every author I read.

I Was Told There'd Be Cake by Sloane Crosley was recommended to me a few years ago and I finally got around to reading it this month.  This book is full of essay's and that's one of my favorite books to read.  Each chapter could be read alone and you can even skip around if you want. If you are looking for an easy but fun read, this is one for you.  I could see myself reading this on a vacation at the beach or something!
