Today marks 11 weeks of the Ivey family being in IBESR. I would be lying if I told you that I never think about when we'll get out of this department. I think about it DAILY!
Anyone else between weeks 9 and 12 like us? I'm noticing that some people are getting out around 4 months. That would be right around the corner for us. I'm trying not to imagine that will happen to us, but deep deep deep down inside I'm praying that DOES happen to us!
Adoption is so much fun! It's kinda like I'm pregnant and counting the weeks, except they are not guaranteed to arrive after a certain amount of weeks, and they'll be 3.5 and 1.5 probably when they join our family! A tad bit different than a pregnancy. Much more stressful. Many more tears. Much more heartache. Please don't compare adoption to pregnancy!!! ha!
Already prayed for the Ivey family this a.m……..ALL THE IVEY FAMILY!!!! 🙂
I bet it’s not much longer now. So exciting!
Hey Jamie,
I’ve been hearing this and that about what’s been going on. Give me a call or email me with details. I think about you guys all the time and want to know specifically how to pray for you. Leslie
My heart goes out to your family and my prayers are with you. But you are right, please do not compare pregnancy to adoption. Both have their joys, heartaches, axiousness, and sorrows. I have cried with friends and family as they struggle to understand why their children were taken from them before they ever met. I have also watched as friends were not able to take children home with them through adoption because of various cirumstances. To say one is harder or more stressful than the other is rediculous.
Amen!!! For me at least (and I had BAD pregnancies!) Adoption is WAY harder (and I had a fairly easy adoption!) haha!!

Praying those kiddos will be FOREVER in your arms SOON!
It truly is the never ending pregnancy – or at least in your head it feels that way. We are almost 1 year into our wait for referral from Ethiopia for our second adoption. It’s a lot easier the second time around – if that helps at all. Hang in there 🙂
